Page 14: Extra Credit Questions

1. The audience this is designed for is anyone living in America. More specifically, this publication would most likely be shown in a doctor's office as it relates to health problems like chronic disease, obesity and cancer, but the main focus is physical activity. Because of this, I also believe a publication like this could also be found in a local gym or YMCA as it speaks highly of physical activity.
2. This document helps others learn about a subject, as well as a combination of changing attitudes of readers and motivating them to take action. It seems that motivating readers to take action is the most important purpose though, as it pushes the idea of physical activity and staying active.
3. The document is addressing health issues related to a lack of physical activity. It shows the benefits of physical activity in children and adults, and how it helps the community and economy as well. It explains that one should stay physically active, but it does not give a clear solution on how to do so.
4. This document involves a lot of reading. If one had disabilities in terms of not being able to read, I do not think they would be able to understand this document. I believe it does combine pictures with the writing well, but it does not tell a story solely based on its images.
5. The document is concise in terms of getting information across. Although it does involve a lot of reading, there are bullets, and the facts are kept very straight forward. Busy readers could scan this document and easily get the point the author was trying to make.
6. The document does appear professional. Although it does include graphics, the graphics are not in any way distracting of what points the document is trying to make.

  1. Excellent analysis. After tomorrow's workshop, you may want to add some thoughts about its design elements (colors, spacing, alignment, etc.). Also, if you could include the image -- in whole or in part -- that would help.

Genius thoughts on accessibility. Really. We need to think more about this!
